Every year, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) holds a winter conference so the exchange of global best practices and new energy efficiency strategies can be brought to HVAC&R professionals. One of Sustainable Engineering Group’s very own principal’s, Svein Morner, presented the Introduction to the New ASHRAE Dedicated Outdoor Air System Design Guide seminar.

The ASHRAE Dedicated Outdoor Air System Design Guide was published in mid-2017. The goal was to gather existing knowledge into a single guide, focused on providing the working-level HVAC designer with the information needed to understand the design considerations that are specifically relevant to DOAS, and then to design a DOAS which best balances installed cost, building energy use and indoor environmental quality. The seminar reviewed the purpose, structure and content of the guide, described how it is intended to be used, shared some key learnings from the process and presented content from several of its key sections.
