Panther Village, University of Northern Iowa


Sustainable Engineering Group joined the team in the early design stages for the new Panther Village 100,000 SF residence hall building. Services performed include: LEED Energy Simulation, Life Cycle Cost Analysis and a Measurement and Verification assessment. The life cycle cost analysis was performed for the Iowa Office of Energy Independence. The building includes: water-source heat pumps, energy recovery ventilation, a high performance building envelope, and high performance lighting. The building has been designed to save 30% in energy costs compared to a code-minimum building.
