Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport

Sustainable Engineering Group provided an ASHRAE Level 2 energy audit of the terminal, concourse, aircraft rescue and firefighting building, maintenance buildings, air traffic control tower, and airfield lighting at the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport in Bentonville, AR.

We also performed an in-depth feasibility study of the exterior lighting systems for the parking lot, roadways and building exterior and the analysis of retrofitting these systems to either high efficiency induction fluorescent or LED lamp types. We examined in detail the implications of color rendering, glare and viewer perception, using as a reference current Illumination Engineering Society and Federal Aviation Administration guidelines. Photometric analysis was performed on sample areas related to the access road, parking area and building exterior. Our analysis included life cycle cost analysis for the two lighting technologies in each sample area.
