Sustainable Engineering Group provided commissioning, energy modeling and geothermal design services for this project and was involved from early planning through the first year operating the building. The project also included building envelope commissioning services during construction and on-going commissioning services during the first year of operation.
The building includes high performance envelope with continuous insulation and MEP systems including: dedicated outdoor air systems with energy recovery, operable windows, distributed heat pumps, automatic daylighting controls, solar hot water, solar electric and a condensing natural gas domestic hot water heater. The geothermal heating and cooling system consists of 96 bores drilled to a depth of 300’ and is located under the building’s playground.
