Alliant Energy Center’s Exhibition Hall

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Alliant Energy Center’s Exhibition Hall is a 255,000 square foot multi-use facility that acts as the leading convention center in Wisconsin, hosting over 500 events annually. Sustainable Engineering Group investigated HVAC, domestic hot water, lighting, and control systems in the Exhibition Hall in order to identify strategies to improve building performance.

The initial phase of the retro-commissioning process involved implementing short payback energy saving measures. These measures had a simple payback of 0.94 years with the help of incentives from Wisconsin utilities’ Focus on Energy program. Improvements included sequence revisions, occupancy commands, and LED lighting instillation.

Capital improvement measures were categorized due to their longer payback period, and comprised of measures included air handler repair, additional lighting replacement, and multiple control system upgrades.

  • Retro Commissioning for energy cost reduction and occupant comfort
  • Focus on Energy Incentives
