The Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee, WI renovated and expanded the existing 64,000 ft2 terminal/concourse building to provide a total area of 148,000 ft2. Sustainable Engineering Group provided a peer review of the energy models and schematic design. In addition, energy saving opportunities were identified by Sustainable Engineering Group for the design team’s consideration as the project progressed.
A geothermal feasibility study was also conducted by Sustainable Engineering Group for the existing building plus proposed addition to the Central Wisconsin Airport. The main goal of this analysis was to determine if a geothermal heating and cooling system is feasible for this project based on the following criteria: energy efficiency, maintenance and reliability, and life cycle cost.
